Craig Christie, best known as the composer of the Australian mega-hit musical Eurobeat-Almost Eurovision, is also a prolific producer of works in the fields of Education, Music Theatre and Community Theatre. Craig Christie’s intention with the Book Week musicals is not only to promote a love of books and reading in line with the aims of the Australian Children’s Book Council but also to introduce primary aged students to quality musical theatre in order to promote and develop new audiences throughout the country. He has developed a narrative and musical style through these touring productions every year that has been enormously successful in engaging primary aged students in live performance throughout the country. These musicals have played to a combined audience of over one million students in schools since their inception in the early 90s, both throughout Australia and as far afield as New Zealand, Singapore and Papua New Guinea.
