Product Description:
This is Dress Circle's 1997 reissue of the 1971 original cast recording of the St Martin's Theatre production (Melbourne, Australia) of Caroline, a musical based on the life and times of Caroline Chisholm, written by Peter Pinne and Don Battye (from an idea by Leila Blake). The production was directed by Jon Ewing, with musical direction by Brian Adamson and orchestrations by Frank Smith. The cast included Leila Blake, Geoff Hiscock, Cindy Wright, Ian Smith, Geraldene Morrow, Bryon Williams, Patsy Hemingway, John Frawley, Lesley Baker, Brent Vernon, Carole Walker, Rod Anderson, Karin Murphy and Kevin Howard. The show was unique for its time in that it had several sung-through sections (a forerunner of a later style in musicals).
