Product Description:

New live album - his first in 9 years! - recorded live during his sell-out season in August 2009 at the Supper Club in Sydney.

Les Solomon describes the album....."Timing is everything in show business, the magic of all the right elements coming together to create a successful career is as unpredictable as a lottery. It seemed in 1997 when sixteen year old Tim Draxl first made a ripple in the music industry that the timing was perfect. It was a ripple that would quickly turn into a whirlpool of early success . Headlines screamed a young new star was born, within a minute by the time he turned 17 Tim was in New York making a huge impact. Over the next two years, two CDs were released through a major company (both now unfortunately deleted), Tim appeared on "Rosie O Donnell Show" on American TV, had sold out concerts in Manhattan and Australia, won a major performance award (the MAC Award) for 'best cabaret debut" in Manhattan - it was a wild and heady time for such a young man.

But as it turned out, the timing wasn't quite right. Tim was still very young, he was pre-Buble, pre Groban and a little ahead of his time. So, at 19, Tim became a little burnt out and took a break from singing to concentrate on a movie and stage career that saw him blossom as a strong and versatile dramatic actor. During the next 5 years he made two brief returns to his early roots in two sold out Sydney cabaret shows, before moving to Los Angeles to seriously pursue the business of movies.

Fast forward to August 2009 and Tim returned briefly to the intimate world of cabaret over two wonderful weeks at the Supper Club in Sydney, once again re united with the wonderful Michael Tyack and Dave Ellis to musically support him. This had been preceded by a few shows in New York earlier in 2009 where one critic who had followed Tim's early teenage rise claimed "he is a revelation of an artist, Draxl is a star whose time has finally come". Well the following two weeks certainly proved that prediction correct; eight sold out shows, wildly enthusiastic crowds, cynical older Sydney audiences reduced to tears. At the time we recorded most of these magical shows on the sound desk for archival purposes only. On listening to these recordings it was clear they captured the raw excitement of the season so well it seemed a shame not to make them available as a limited release live album.

So, here it is, Tim's first album release in almost nine years, capturing him up close and personal and reflecting a start to a new level of his singing career. Ten years of living and learning more about life have given this remarkable young man a new depth to his singing, an extra depth and nuance to his unique and original singing voice. May this little CD be the start of a new and even more exciting chapter of his singing career -it is a great demonstration that his time has certainly come. Sit back and enjoy as , to put in the words of the Sydney Morning Herald, Tim performs open heart surgery on sixteen great songs."
